The Land Conservancy of West Michigan has left a lasting mark on the environment and people of West Michigan.  The organization serves 8 counties in the region and has helped to protect 12251 acres or land and 81 miles of shoreline.  A new carbon offset program has been designed for travelers to help reduce their carbon footprint.  The program offers conference attendees the option to support tree planting in the West Michigan area through cash donations to the Land Conservancy.  To see what the LCWM does, please follow the link: https://naturenearby.org/.

The West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC) was established nearly 50 years ago with protecting rivers and streams as a core focus, and to help establish the Environmental Protection Act.  WMEAC has a long history of organizing community volunteers to engage in a host of environmental projects.  JASM has teamed up with WMEAC to offer conference attendees the opportunity to get involved in a workday that will benefit local natural resources.  Although still in the planning stages, projects may include upgrades to green infrastructure, tree planting, and/or stream cleanups.  Follow the link below for more about WMEAC:  https://wmeac.org/.
